If you’ve been following our blog, then you probably know that our team’s been growing – and growing fast! Today we’re welcoming 3 new team members: Rob, Bernard and Jos.
Rob Wieggers joins our engineering team
Rob has joined us as software engineer, bringing a wealth of experience to our development team. Rob was born in Zevenaar, a town located in the east of the Netherlands. He studied Computational Science in Utrecht and recently obtained his PhD in Nuclear Fusion. “After completing my PhD, I wanted to find a job that would enable me to do research and apply it at a practical level,” says Rob. “I was drawn to imgZine because the company thinks in terms of opportunities and success, and works hard to make things happen. I like that attitude.”
Sports and sport-related events play an important role in both his professional and social life. He plays basketball and tennis at a recreational level and also works on the player tracking project of ORTEC Sports.
Meet our new project manager: Bernard van der Wees
Bernard first joined us as a data visualization intern last year. A few months ago, he stepped into a project management function to assist us with some exciting new projects. Bernard obtained his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Twente and recently completed a Masters program in Business Information Technology, graduating with honors.

Jos Knoote joins us for sales
Jos has built a decades-long career in marketing and publishing. He was born in Port-Elizabeth, South Africa. After completing his marketing studies, he started working as a journalist for Surf Magazine, one of the first sports magazines of the Dutch-based Telegraaf Media Group. During his time at TMG, he saw the magazine division expand with ski, snowboarding, soccer, tennis, hockey and volleyball publications followed by luxury glossy magazines like Elegance, FHM, Residence, Man, Oor, Starstyle and Autovisie.
Following his time at TMG, he worked at Red Bull for three cool energy boosting years. Shortly afterwards he started his own company, Magstream.com, where he served for 7 years as creative director and marketing lead. After a year on sabbatical, he decided to look for a new challenge and found a perfect match in the imgZine team: “imgZine has a clear vision of what the market needs are today,and in the coming years. The company’s IT infrastructure is well organized and scalable. I find it very enjoyable to work with skilled and dedicated colleagues in a start-up that is growing so fast. Developing and executing an effective sales strategy for imgZine, with a strong focus on serving the brands of the world, is a challenge that I enjoy to the max!”
